Application to Present

Deadline to submit an application has been extended to June 8, 2005.    After this date, there will be a "rolling" application process based on availability.

Company Presentations

Companies selected to present at BIO Mid-America 2005 will be privately-held companies from the life science sector. Broadly defined this includes products relating to biotechnology (e.g. genomics, proteomics, drug discovery and development), medical devices, bioinformatics, as well as other related technologies. Companies encouraged to apply include seed, early-stage, late-stage, and pre-IPO. The typical company will be in the AB round of funding.

Presenting companies will be selected by a committee composed of qualified venture capitalists serving on the conference's Advisory Board. The 7 criteria by which each application will be evaluated and scored include market opportunity, partnerships, business platform, competitive advantages, intellectual property, exit strategy and the quality and experience of senior management. Each of these criteria should be disclosed in the application which represents the corporate profile of the company. It is important to be as thorough and complete as possible when filling out the application.

Selected companies are expected to participate in a CEO Boot Camp scheduled for Minneapolis and Colorado. This is an intensive, one-day training session aimed at helping presenting CEOs to refine and hone both their formal presentation and their presentation skills. There is no cost to presenters to attend bootcamp.

The structure of the VentureForum Conference in September will promote numerous networking opportunities for participating companies. There will be a welcome reception on September 21, 2005, organized breakfasts, luncheons and a gala reception on September 22, 2005. All of these activities are included in the registration fee along with reserved space for presenting companies to meet with VCs following presentations. This structure maximizes visibility and interaction.

Presenting companies are required to pay a registration fee in addition to the fee to present.  Companies applying to present should not pay the presentation fee until acceptance to the conference.  To get a discount on cost, registration fees should be paid before the early registration deadline.  Each additional attendee per company will receive a registration discount.  Click here for presenting company registration.
