Corporate Mission

Nanospectra Biosciences is developing AuroLase(TM) therapy, a minimally invasive photo-thermal cancer therapies for solid tumors using its proprietary AuroShell(TM) particles. Our optically-tunable particles are delivered intravenously, activated by a non-thermal laser and destroy solid tumors and related neo-vasculature without damage to healthy tissue.

Our particle-based photo-thermal therapy is broadly applicable to virtually all solid tumors, but we will initially test our therapy in head and neck cancers. We will file an Investigation Device Exemption with the FDA in 2006 to commence human trials for this indication.

The advantages of our therapy include: (i) achieving a rapid complete or partial response detectable by the physician within days; (ii) treating early regional metastatic disease before clinical detection; and (iii) remaining compatible with, and potentially enhancing, standard chemotherapy and radiation treatment modalities.

NBI is advised by a group of world-class researchers and experienced biotech entrepreneurs and has secured peer-reviewed grants and awards totaling $5.4 million to develop its technology for cancer treatment and diagnosis and for other applications.
