This Year's Highlights

  • Dr. Jeffrey Williams was recently appointed as CEO. Jeff has over 20 years of experience in the commercialization of life science and diagnostic products. He has served in senior management positions at Promega, Roche Diagnostics and Ambion.
  • Platypus was recently awarded a $2.3 million contract with Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center. The aim of the project is to develop a real-time sensor for the detection and quantification of warfare chemicals.
  • We have initiated beta testing of our Cell Migration Assay with 7 prominent labs around the country, including Harvard, Sloan-Kettering and UW-Madison. Estimated market size for this product is $35 million.

Anticipated Highlights

  • Launch of Cell Migration Assay in 3rd quarter 2007. This assay offers benefits over what is currently in the market. Cell migration assays are widely used by researchers in cancer, angiogenesis, cardiovascular research and wound healing.
  • On target to launch our 2nd product - an infectious disease antibody detection assay in 2008, using liquid crystals to detect, amplify and report target proteins.
  • A portable prototype gas sensing device for real-time detection of multiple analytes will be available in 2008. This device will be able to detect toxic industrial compounds and organophosphates.

Corporate Mission

Platypus Technologies will become a leader in the application of nanotechnology to the life sciences and chemical sensing industries through discovery and innovation.
