This Year's Highlights

  • InvivoSciences(IVS)bridges the gap in preclinical research using animal models-cell systems. IVS commercializes rapid in vitro biological profiling systems for drug development- miniaturized engineered tissues and an automated assay system
  • The company has been funded by its founders? capital and grant awards (2 phase I STTR). Initial stage milestones and technology proof-of-concepts were completed. We are ready in commercializing its initial products.
  • Scientific advisory team includes Dr. Joseph Schlessinger, Prof and Chair of Pharmacology at Yale (cofounder of Sugen and Plexxikon), Drs. Douglas Lauffenburger and Linda Griffith, Prof and Co-Director and Prof respectively at BioEngineering, MIT.

Anticipated Highlights

  • IVS will sell device (Palpator-TM) and its consumables to capture at least 0.5% combined ($300M) of cell and tissue -based HTS market including the toxicology ($7 billion market) in 5 years.
  • IVS is developing disease models impairing tissue mechanical function in the heart, blood vessels and liver using various cell types including stem cells. IVS is screening a library of plant extracts using Palpator-TM for treating cardiac fibrosis.
  • IVS will increase its visibility (we have listed as New Technologies & Approaches in Early Toxicology Market research by Kalorama Information) and grant funding (expecting Phase II STTR, 1.2 M).

Corporate Mission

InvivoSciences? mission is to improve human health and quality of life via innovative technologies enabling faster, cheaper, and more reliable discovery of pharmaceuticals. IVS will conduct a biology-driven approach to drug discovery rather than the chemistry-(molecular target)-driven approaches that have recently been emphasized in the pharmaceutical industry. The key is to use complex biological systems for screening at early stages of lead discovery. Our proprietary technology bridges the gap in preclinical research performed using animal models and cell culture systems. The advancement of lab-automation and our expertise in tissue engineering allow us to commercialize fast, reliable, and cost effective bio screening systems. IVS?s approach will reduce animal testing by the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industry and by academic institutions
Our long-term goal is to discover pharmaceuticals to treat a wide range of disease conditions that impair mechanical functions of tissues such as heart, blood vessels, lung, and liver. IVS will achieve this goal by completing the milestones (attached table) in three phases: I) Enter the market with a proprietary high throughput screening system (Palpator? and consumables), II) Generate cash flow via drug and toxicology screening and sales of device and consumables, III) Discover drugs.
