This Year's Highlights

  • In August 2007, SureGene secured a $510,000 economic incentive package from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Department of Commercialization and Innovation awarded the incentive package to SureGene to enhance high tech job creation in Kentucky.
  • In July 2007, the NIMH awarded SureGene Year 2 of a 2 year, $497,000 SBIR Phase I to develop genetic tests for Schizophrenia. Kentucky matched this award with $100,000 through its innovative SBIR Match Program bringing the total funding to $597,000.
  • SureGene has secured an industry-leading IP estate that includes 6 patent-pending genes related to schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. These genes form the basis of SureGene?s first product, the AssureGene Test for Schizophrenia.

Anticipated Highlights

  • SureGene?s first product, version 1.0 of the AssureGene Test for Schizophrenia Risk will be completed in early 2008. Management anticipates that additional tests for bipolar risk assessment, pharmacogenetics, and supplemental diagnosis will follow.
  • In 2008, SureGene anticipates securing a 3 year, $1,350,000 Phase II through the same mental health biomarkers program announcement as the Phase I. Kentucky may match that award with $1,000,000 over 2 years for a total of $2,350,000.
  • SureGene has numerous collaborations with high profile clinical sites, research institutes, and thought leaders. Management expects several of these collaborations to progress to a point where public disclosure is warranted in near future.
