This Year's Highlights

  • C5-6 is the commercial partner on the Great Lakes Biomass Research Center with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan State University. This is one of three $125 million grants awarded by the DOE for research in cellulosic ethanol.
  • C5-6 Technologies was awarded a $1.3 million research grant by the USDA/DOE for its work in soy-based substrates for biofuels conversion. This is the only significant grant award to date for work in this area.
  • The first pilot scale run of C5-6's corn ethanol improvement enzymes will occur in September of 2007.

Anticipated Highlights

  • Introduction of first products for the improvement of corn ethanol productivity will occur in the first quarter of 2008.
  • Completion of lab trials of C5-6's soy meal conversion enzymes will occur in Q3 of 2008.
